About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Independently design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain UiPath automation solutions supporting Navy business process automation, data reconciliation, validation, and reporting
- Lead technical process discovery with Navy functional users and translate business requirements into scalable, auditable RPA solutions
- Design and build end-to-end automation solutions using UiPath Studio and related technologies
- Publish, schedule, monitor, and support production automations through UiPath Orchestrator
- Evaluate processes and recommend automation approaches based on feasibility, complexity, data, security, value, and maintainability
- Integrate UiPath automations with Navy and DoW systems, Excel, SharePoint, SQL databases, APIs, and other platforms
- Develop Python scripts, SQL queries, APIs, and supporting technical components
- Apply software development best practices, including reusable design, version control, exception handling, logging, testing, debugging, code review, and configuration management
- Develop and maintain PDDs, SDDs, technical specifications, test plans, deployment documentation, and user/operations documentation
- Conduct unit and integration testing and support UAT, production deployment, and post-implementation validation
- Troubleshoot bot failures and production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and develop sustainable solutions
- Collaborate with functional and technical stakeholders to define automation opportunities and requirements
- Support Azure and Azure AI integration and evaluate generative AI, intelligent document processing, and other AI-enabled capabilities
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and manage assigned development activities through the software development lifecycle
- Coordinate with cybersecurity, system owners, and technical stakeholders on security, access control, change management, data protection, and ATO requirements
- Collaborate on development standards, reusable components, technical governance, and continuous improvement
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to less-experienced developers
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to the RPA Center of Excellence's standards, libraries, and governance framework for senior-level candidates
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active or interim DoD SECRET security clearance; ability to maintain clearance eligibility for the duration of assignment
- U.S. Citizenship required by contract
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field
- 3–6 years of professional RPA, software automation, or related development experience, including hands-on experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting UiPath automation solutions
- Proficiency with UiPath Studio and UiPath Orchestrator, including workflow development, reusable components, queues, assets, credentials, scheduling, exception handling, logging, deployment, and production monitoring
- Experience independently designing and delivering end-to-end automation solutions from requirements gathering and process analysis through development, testing, deployment, and production support
- Proficiency with Python and SQL for scripting, data processing, system integration, or automation development
- Strong understanding of software development fundamentals and best practices, including modular design, testing, debugging, version control, exception handling, logging, and maintainability
- Experience integrating automation solutions with enterprise applications, APIs, databases, Excel, SharePoint, and other structured or semi-structured data sources
- Experience conducting process analysis and translating business requirements and operational challenges into technical automation solutions
- Experience developing technical documentation, including PDDs, SDDs, technical specifications, testing documentation, and operational/user documentation
- Ability to troubleshoot complex automation failures, conduct root-cause analysis, and resolve production issues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including leading technical discussions with functional stakeholders and explaining technical solutions to non-technical audiences
- Ability to independently manage assigned automation solutions and development activities while collaborating within a broader technical and program team
- UiPath certification, Navy/NAVFAC or DoW real property program experience, Navy real property systems familiarity, federal audit remediation/internal controls/data reconciliation experience, Azure and Azure AI experience, additional automation/integration tools, generative AI/LLMs/agentic AI/intelligent document processing, Git/GitLab/CI/CD, Agile/Scrum, and mentoring experience are desired
