About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the Owner’s Representative for commercial construction projects in remote, harsh environments
  • Advise the Project Owner on all aspects of projects from concept to completion
  • Bridge communication between the project owner, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits, including environmental impact assessments and mitigation measures
  • Monitor project schedules, provide feedback on performance and risks, and support timely milestone completion
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Monitor contractor quality control measures against industry standards and Owner expectations
  • Exchange information among on-site stakeholders, provide project progress updates, and address concerns
  • Observe and influence construction teams, subcontractors, and support staff on behalf of the Owner
  • Foster a collaborative and safety-focused work environment
  • Consult on compliance with safety regulations and best practices and recommend corrective actions
  • Maintain project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, and progress reports
  • Provide regular reporting to stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6-8 years of Construction Manager (CM) experience in commercial or public construction
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations
  • Proven ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously and deliver results on time and within budget
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred
  • Equivalent relevant work experience, military background, or hands-on CM field experience is strongly welcomed
  • CSI Construction Document Technologist (CDT) Technician certification
  • Experience acting as an Owner’s Representative on complex construction projects
  • Proficient in project management software and tools; experience in Procore is a plus
  • Proven track record of proactively managing project schedules and mitigating risks to prevent delays
  • Skilled at building and maintaining trust-based relationships across diverse groups of stakeholders
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high-quality, compliant execution
  • Willingness to be onsite with extended stays of 6-18 months in remote locations
  • Flexibility, adaptability, initiative, and passion for environmental conservation
  • Position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
