About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in delivery of primary healthcare, patient care management, and clerical duties as needed in an ambulatory environment
- Provide age-appropriate care based on growth and development principles
- Answer incoming calls for all providers within SCMG
- Route messages correctly with attention to detail
- Update and validate patient demographics and insurance
- Support multiple providers simultaneously and provide services to keep them on schedule
- Monitor patient messages and triage patient calls
- Notify patients of lab results and medication refills as directed
- Obtain prior authorizations for medications
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
Requirements
What you’ll need- Knowledge of medical practice to assist in patient care
- Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
- Candidate must live within 1 hour from Silver Cross Hospital main campus to ensure capability to report onsite for downtime procedure or meetings
- High school diploma or GED required
- CPR Certification
- Possible rotation with Saturday coverage (1 every 5/6 weeks)
