About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Make initial contact with delinquent customers to set up payment arrangements or settlements
  • Manage outbound and inbound calls to resolve delinquent non-real-estate accounts and determine reasons for delinquency
  • Process, distribute, and post consumer loan payments
  • Complete file maintenance on consumer loans
  • Process telephone payments to the corporate office for reconciliation
  • Counsel customers regarding financial obligations and offer suggestions and alternatives
  • Log accurate account-status notes and collection efforts in the bank’s system of record
  • Work outside typical 8–5 hours when required for collection efforts
  • Ensure departmental documents and activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Complete required compliance training
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • HS Diploma/GED
  • No experience required
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and/or legal documents
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Jack Henry Platform proficiency
  • Excellent telephone and customer service skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Punctual and regular attendance
  • Friendly, professional image and conduct
  • No specialized training required
  • No certificates, licenses, or registrations required
