About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and continuously improve the bank's technical infrastructure
- Understand existing technologies deployed by the bank and identify opportunities to improve performance, stability, or reduce costs
- Present identified opportunities to IT and Executive Leadership
- Evaluate bank technology and identify improvement opportunities
- Evaluate emerging technologies that could benefit the bank
- Advise IT and bank leadership regarding the state of the technology industry
- Design, test, and evaluate technical solutions
- Prepare proposals, briefings, and other information on current and emerging operational technologies
- Perform due diligence reviews of technologies selected for implementation
- Engage with hardware, software, and consulting vendors involved in major changes or implementations
- Assist with contract negotiations and system architecture design
- Participate as a member of the Bank's Architecture Review Board
- Lead critical infrastructure-related projects as needed
- Ensure departmental documents and activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Complete required compliance training
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Experience working within a regulated financial institution environment
- 8+ years of experience across enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or senior technology leadership roles
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical, financial reporting, and/or legal documents
- Ability to serve as a technical advisor to senior leadership
- Ability to present information in one-on-one, small group, and executive sessions
- Ability to lead and advise technical teams on projects or strategic initiatives
- Ability to prioritize assignments across multiple projects
- Ability to work independently with little supervision and as a team member
- Ability to assess existing and emerging technologies and identify opportunities to leverage them
- Advanced understanding of networking, server, cloud, security, and automation technologies
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance considerations, including FFIEC, GLBA, and data protection
- Intermediate/Advanced Office Automation experience
- Experience with MS Visio or similar tools
- Experience with data and architecture mapping technologies
- Strong understanding of technical security tools and concepts
- Advanced certifications in networking, system design, cloud design, database design and management, artificial intelligence, and/or other relevant certifications, licenses, and registrations, or willingness and ability to obtain such certifications within 12 months of employment
- Network, server, and database skills, including system design, performance tuning, and resilient configuration, strongly preferred
- Familiarity with leading ITSM systems preferred
