About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage allocated client projects day to day and ensure delivery of commercial, practical advice within set time limits.
  • Draft and prepare client advice, and review and comment on advice drafted by external counsel, internal colleagues, or AI.
  • Supervise junior CBU members and/or members of the wider financial services regulatory team.
  • Build and develop client, internal, and external counsel relationships.
  • Attend client meetings and calls as required.
  • Research new areas of regulation, financial services, and products.
  • Assist with drafting pitches and presenting to clients.
  • Support senior project leads, including monitoring scope creep and flagging work outside agreed fee arrangements.
  • Ensure collaboration between the CBU and navigator team.
  • Review and suggest process and procedure improvements, including AI use.
  • Provide training and development for the CBU.
  • Accurately log client and external counsel fee agreements to support timely billing and cost management.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Ideally 3–7 years’ PQE, gained in a leading City firm or in-house role with a primary focus on financial services regulation.
  • Excellent academics.
  • Ability to build and maintain constructive relationships and networks with individuals at different levels of seniority, internally and externally.
  • Ability to influence and persuade at all levels, confidently and articulately.
  • Ability to manage a varying workload with competing time pressures.
  • Effective use of delegation.
  • Strong client focus and commercially driven.
  • Ability to demonstrate navigator services to potential subscribers and train existing users.
  • Ability to manage a diverse and inclusive team.
  • Willingness to embrace and deploy AI, and support others in doing so.
