About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support a key client at Simmons & Simmons as a junior corporate lawyer
- Undertake a full-time, fully remote assignment expected to last 3 months
- Review and draft contracts
- Work independently while escalating matters when appropriate
- Collaborate with the wider team and client team
- Prioritise workloads and deliver work effectively to tight deadlines
- Engage regularly with a sponsoring Partner and client team
- Participate in training, development, networking events, webinars, and firmwide events
Requirements
What you’ll need- Qualified lawyer with 1-2 years PQE in corporate law
- Comfortable working independently and knowing when to escalate matters
- Strong contract review and drafting skills
- Problem-solving ability and collaborative approach
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-moving environment
- Ability to work quickly and effectively to tight deadlines
- Excellent organisation skills and ability to prioritise workloads
- Ability to work autonomously and collaborate as part of the wider team
- Required to hold the relevant right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available
- Required to complete the employer's background screening process; this may include a DBS certificate depending on the position
