About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own and continually sharpen how Situation presents itself externally
- Develop and drive the agency’s communications and content strategy across press, social, thought leadership, events and other external channels
- Identify stories, ideas, people, client work and insights deserving a larger audience
- Build relationships with press, journalists, influencers and industry voices
- Pitch Situation, its people, work and thinking to trade and mainstream media
- Manage awards, innovation lists, agency rankings and recognition opportunities
- Create opportunities for leaders and team members to participate in panels, juries, conferences, podcasts and industry platforms
- Develop a proactive visibility strategy for senior leadership
- Package ideas, perspectives, research and experience into compelling pitches and platforms
- Turn Fandom Unpacked into a larger communications and thought-leadership platform
- Extend research and intellectual property across social, articles, presentations, events and client-exclusive content
- Find external storytelling opportunities for Project philanthropy and drive client and partner engagement
- Develop an agency hospitality and engagement strategy
- Create gatherings involving clients, prospects, partners and other relevant people
- Strategically use tickets, trade, sponsorships, donations and other agency assets to deepen relationships
- Make Situation events more intentional, valuable and differentiated
- Report to the President and work closely with agency leadership and business units while driving the agenda
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6-8+ years of communications, PR, brand or agency experience
- Ideally experience working across entertainment, culture, media, advertising, sports, hospitality or adjacent industries
- Proven ability to create opportunities, not just execute them
- Strong media and industry relationships
- Demonstrated success earning press, securing speaking opportunities, awards, panels, partnerships and other forms of visibility
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills
- Strong strategic instincts
- Ability to understand a business quickly and translate its work, people and ideas into a clear, compelling external narrative
- Highly connected and relationship-oriented
- Comfortable engaging senior clients, journalists, industry leaders, partners, influencers and prospects
- Entrepreneurial and highly self-directed
- Comfortable operating with significant autonomy, managing multiple workstreams and being accountable for outcomes
