About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and build applications addressing real-world challenges
- Contribute across the whole software pipeline, from presenting ideas to customers through coding to deployment on customer systems
- Develop reliable Android applications using Kotlin Jetpack Compose, with potential Kotlin Multi-Platform work
- Build user experiences involving real-time device data, mapping, and offline functionality
- Design and implement robust, scalable backend solutions using Rust or Go
- Write web APIs and develop AWS and Azure solutions, including IoT integrations
- Use GIT for version control and collaborative code management
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery and deployment
- Write clean, efficient, well-documented code following industry best practices
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Stay current with software development technologies, trends, and best practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience or willingness to develop PoC applications where requirements may change rapidly and rework is common
- Strong proficiency in GIT for version control and collaborative development
- Familiarity with backend development languages such as Rust or Go
- Solid understanding of software development principles, including MVVM and UDF
- Knowledge of Web APIs and standards such as OpenAPI
- Knowledge of data structures
- Knowledge of DevOps processes, including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities within a team environment
- Curiosity, strong problem-solving skills, and motivation to continuously improve technology design and delivery
- Must already hold or be eligible to obtain higher levels of UK Government Security Clearance
- UK driving licence is essential
