About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide support with the operational building logistics service in line with the scope
  • Review and implement SOPs and ensure the organisational structure is relevant
  • Lead and supervise the team
  • Ensure Chargehands carry out their duties effectively and the team successfully completes tasks
  • Ensure teams are put to work correctly and daily tasks are communicated to comply with safety and quality
  • Ensure correct equipment is available
  • Ensure teams follow health, safety, environmental and quality protocols
  • Support the Buildings Logistics Manager to maintain KPIs
  • Deliver a safe system of work, DABs and day notes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Previous Supervisory Experience
  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
  • CITB certificate (Managers and Professional standards)
  • Excellent IT/ MS office skills
  • Being able to deliver essential training and mentor staff
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to build and develop a team
  • Able to deal calmly and confidently with all demands from construction and Clients
  • Demonstrable commitment to continuous improvement
  • Experience in reporting Observations and Near misses
  • You must be able to provide a 3-year work/ unemployment/ education history required for the vetting process in line with HPC protocols
  • You must be able to obtain the HPC pass
  • Evidence of right to work in the UK
  • Desirable: CSCS Card Manager Level (Black)
  • Desirable: IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
  • Desirable: Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Management (or working towards)
