About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and ship new features for the customer-facing e-commerce site using TypeScript and Hydrogen, React, and React Router v7
  • Own server-rendered pages end to end, including routes, loaders, actions, and customer-facing components
  • Integrate with commerce, content, and analytics APIs
  • Debug issues across the full request lifecycle
  • Improve site speed and reliability so visits are fast and checkouts work
  • Make architecture investment decisions and deliver simpler solutions when appropriate
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Design, Product, and Operations on launches, campaigns, and experiments
  • Write maintainable, high-quality code with strong test coverage
  • Mentor other engineers through code reviews and design discussions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong experience building and operating production React and TypeScript applications with server-side rendering
  • Solid hands-on experience with React Router v7, including routes, loaders, actions, and server-rendered application patterns
  • Full-stack experience: comfortable in both the browser and the server, integrating APIs, and debugging across the request lifecycle
  • A track record of improving performance and reliability for a customer-facing site
  • Good judgment about when to invest in architecture and when to deliver a simpler solution
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills across engineering and non-engineering teams
  • Experience with Shopify Plus, the Storefront API, or Hydrogen
  • Experience with CMS integrations
  • Familiarity with feature flags and A/B testing
  • Experience with e-commerce analytics
