About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and execute quality assurance strategies for Skylo’s end-to-end satellite Non-Terrestrial Network
  • Ensure system reliability, performance, and compliance with 3GPP standards across device, radio access, and core network layers
  • Plan, execute, and analyze tests validating network features, field deployments, and customer-facing services
  • Develop comprehensive test plans covering requirements, planning, execution, and automation
  • Collaborate with system architects, software developers, and network engineers on test strategies for new features and releases
  • Conduct integration, interoperability, and regression testing across device, RAN, core network, and satellite segments
  • Perform lab-based and field-based testing under real-world conditions
  • Analyze and debug complex system issues and identify root causes across hardware, software, and network layers
  • Define KPIs, collect telemetry, and assess observability tools
  • Document test results, provide feedback to development teams, and drive issue resolution
  • Participate in test automation and enhance coverage across test categories
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to system validation best practices and processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven track record in system test, validation engineering, or acceptance testing for large-scale, distributed, or telecommunications systems
  • Strong understanding of 3GPP cellular protocols (LTE/5G/NB-IoT-NTN), especially RAN and Core Network components
  • Strong understanding of QA processes, from defining acceptance criteria and requirements to test suites
  • Hands-on experience with system integration, performance benchmarking, and end-to-end validation
  • Hands-on experience with load testing, chaos testing, fault injection, and efficiency testing
  • Hands-on experience with protocol validation, device testing using AT commands, and UE emulators
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs using tools such as Postman, and gRPC APIs
  • Ability to script or program in Bash, Python, Go, or Ruby on Unix/Linux or equivalent
  • Experience executing automation jobs using Jenkins
  • Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, execution-driven environment with minimal oversight
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
  • Active daily use of AI tools and ability to quickly incorporate new tools into workflows
  • Experience with satellite or NTN systems, RF testing, cloud infrastructure, virtualized test environments, JIRA, Confluence, Robot Framework, and Python are nice to have
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related discipline is nice to have
