About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a team of 3PL Fulfillment Specialists
  • Support third-party logistics providers and associated inventory to deliver products to customers
  • Lead all aspects of Slate’s relationship with its 3PL
  • Track inventory ordered for and located at the 3PL
  • Develop Slate–3PL interactions and drive process and system improvements to meet service-level agreements
  • Serve as Slate’s representative to warehousing and logistics partners
  • Manage warehousing and fulfillment of products to customers
  • Act as primary contact between the 3PL and Slate cross-functional teams
  • Own the commercial relationship with the 3PL
  • Monitor performance metrics and address operational issues to optimize costs and service levels
  • Drive decision-making with the 3PL to improve effectiveness
  • Validate and approve monthly 3PL invoices against shipment, receipt, and inventory records
  • Track actual costs versus plan and recommend process improvements to reduce costs
  • Monitor outbound packaging needs and inventory
  • Implement and execute a material cycle-counting program
  • Track expected shipments and discrepancies between vendor notifications and physical receipts
  • Help develop a 3PL ecosystem for Service Parts, Accessories, and Apparel and Merch, including future partner selection

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Material Management, Material Analytics, Operations, or equivalent is preferred; hands-on experience and a proven track record of success may substitute
  • 8+ years of experience in warehousing, logistics, and material management, preferably directly working with 3PLs or warehousing
  • 2+ years of previous manager experience in a Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Management role is required
  • Proven track record overseeing relationships with third-party logistics service providers
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of basic and advanced warehouse management processes and practices
  • Proficiency in ERP Systems and Project Management tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or data analysis tools such as SmartSheets, Tableau, Alteryx, or other scripting tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail
  • Comfortable in start-up environments
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with external partners and internal teams
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis; visa sponsorship is unavailable
