About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and lead Slate’s fleet customer success function from the ground up
- Own the customer experience from first vehicle demo through delivery and ongoing account health
- Design the fleet onboarding framework, pilot success playbook, and account health model
- Define the working model with Retail Customer Success, including shared infrastructure, escalation pathways, and support boundaries
- Support loaner vehicle pilot programs with Sales by establishing demo success plans, KPIs, engagement/performance tracking, and issue-resolution pathways
- Own the first 90 days post-purchase, including charging infrastructure coordination, vehicle upfitting, fleet management system integration, driver orientation support, and delivery logistics
- Run structured 30-day, 60-day, and 90-day post-delivery check-ins
- Serve as the single point of contact for new fleet accounts during activation
- Own issue escalation end-to-end through triage, internal coordination, and customer communication
- Maintain proactive check-ins, health reviews, and renewal conversations with active fleet accounts jointly with Sales
- Identify expansion signals and route them to Sales with context
- Represent fleet customer feedback and field patterns in product, operations, and sales discussions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Finance, Data Analytics or equivalent is preferred; hands-on experience and a proven track record of success may substitute
- 8+ years in B2B customer success, enterprise account management, or fleet/commercial vehicle operations
- Experience owning retention and expansion outcomes
- 2+ years of previous manager experience in a Customer Success capacity
- Track record of building a CS function, onboarding program, or customer success practice from the ground up
- Experience managing complex business relationships across multi-stakeholder accounts
- Familiarity with fleet operations concepts, including vehicle lifecycle, TCO analysis, and fleet management platforms such as Samsara or Geotab
- EV knowledge or genuine enthusiasm for the commercial EV transition, including charging infrastructure, range planning, and total cost of ownership
- Clear written and in-person communication
- Organized and systematic approach to account portfolio management and process building
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, growth-stage environment
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel up to 25% to fleet customer sites, vehicle delivery events, and Slate company meetings
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis
