About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own predictive time-series, AI, and machine learning models for forecasting product sales across Slate’s business units, geographies, and segments
  • Monitor forecast accuracy, forecast bias, and related measures to refine forecast models
  • Partner with SI&OP Analysts on root-cause variance analyses and planning deviation evaluations
  • Translate complex analytical outputs into actionable operational insights
  • Design models for inventory optimization, safety stock development, and supply capacity constraint reduction
  • Build and maintain forecasts and processes for demand and supply scenario planning
  • Conduct scenario analyses evaluating service levels, costs, and operational risks
  • Own and scale data pipelines and data quality for automated KPI reporting dashboards
  • Develop, track, and report SI&OP KPIs, including forecast accuracy, inventory turns, service levels, and production/procurement performance
  • Support the monthly SI&OP cycle through meeting preparation, recommendation analysis, and KPI reporting
  • Drive continuous improvement across SI&OP processes, forecast accuracy, inventory management, and operational efficiency
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Brand, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Finance, and business units to develop a rolling 12–24 month executable business plan

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Finance, or equivalent is required
  • 6+ years of experience in Data Science
  • Hands-on experience within SI&OP, Demand Planning, or Business Management / Strategy strongly preferred
  • Experience with AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics to create forecasting models
  • Understanding of data interpretation and statistical and non-statistical forecasting models
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or data analysis tools such as SmartSheets, Tableau, Alteryx, or scripting tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail
  • Comfort working in startup environments
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with external partners and internal teams
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis
