About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, code, and launch backend features and services for restaurant partners
Identify asymmetric technical opportunities that deliver disproportionate value
Own initiatives end-to-end from concept through production
Collaborate with product, design, and other teams to define, execute, and iterate solutions
Use appropriate technologies, including Python, Flask, Go, Ruby, and cloud services
Collaborate with a small agile team of 5 to 8 backend engineers
Review code and brainstorm ideas
Apply coding, testing, monitoring, and DevOps best practices
Write unit tests and maintain logging and alerting
Ensure services are reliable and performant in production

Requirements

What you’ll need

Solid experience crafting scalable backend systems in Python (Flask)
Experience working with databases and cloud services
Comfortable using monitoring and logging tools
Technology-agnostic ability to quickly learn new languages or frameworks such as Go and Ruby
Experience working effectively on a distributed team and communicating asynchronously
Comfortable collaborating across different time zones and backgrounds
Strong product and customer focus
Ability to take initiative and own problems end-to-end
Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment
No educational credential or minimum years of experience explicitly required
