About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and oversee the building process of telecommunication construction projects from start to finish
- Develop scopes of work, work with contractors, delegate responsibilities, and provide project progress updates
- Select and oversee contractors for projects, major upgrades, and related telecommunication construction initiatives
- Supervise contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality standards, Smartaira’s Scope of Work, and technical specifications are met
- Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, internal teams, and other involved parties during initial planning
- Develop detailed descriptions of jobs and required materials
- Schedule and coordinate projects and budget the time needed to meet deadlines
- Prepare and submit budget estimates and communicate budget progress and costs to stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to budgets and make adjustments through established change-management and approval processes
- Plan, coordinate, organize, oversee, and direct construction and maintenance activities for assigned structures, facilities, and systems
- Ensure jobsite safety standards, guidelines, and construction codes are followed
- Oversee negotiations, revisions, and change orders with contractors and subcontractors
- Ensure all parties comply with contractual obligations
- Collaborate with clients, supervisory staff, and contractors to resolve work procedures, complaints, and construction issues
- Lead responses to delays, bad weather, and emergencies at construction sites
- Maintain working relationships with owners, managers, designers, supervisors, tradespersons, and craft workers
- Perform other directives as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Thorough understanding of telecommunication contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Visio, Bluebeam Revu, and MSOffice 360
- Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions and work well under pressure and unexpected occurrences or delays
- Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problems
- Exceptional telephone protocol and high degree of professionalism
- Energetic, upbeat, outgoing, organized, and detail oriented with excellent follow-through skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours when required
- Minimum of five years of telecommunication construction project management experience
- Minimum of three years of telecommunication project management in single family homes preferred
- Construction Manager certification by the American Institute of Constructors or Construction Management Association of America preferred
- Bachelor's degree in construction science, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering preferred
- PMP designation and/or PMI certifications or equivalent preferred
- BICSI or equivalent certifications preferred
- Industry-recognized WiFi/WLAN training and certifications
- Ability to traverse and inspect all areas of a jobsite in all types of weather, including walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Availability to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other jobsite issues
