About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and oversee scalable, reliable data platform architecture, including data pipelines, storage solutions, and processing systems
Develop and implement data models, ensure data quality, and establish data governance policies
Build and optimize data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming large datasets
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in data pipelines and systems
Evaluate emerging data technologies and explore infrastructure innovation opportunities
Diagnose and resolve complex data-related issues
Implement data security measures and ensure compliance with data governance policies
Protect sensitive data and maintain data platform stability and reliability
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
10+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role
Experience with enterprise SaaS software solutions with high availability and scalability
Experience handling large-scale structured and unstructured data from varied data sources
Experience building and maintaining data platform systems including distributed compute, data orchestration, distributed storage, and streaming infrastructure
Experience working with Product Engineering teams to influence designs for data, AI, and analytics use cases
In-depth experience in system design involving large petabytes of data with Databricks Lakehouse
Experience with modern AI/data infrastructure patterns and semantics layers for organizing data for AI agents
Experience with AWS, GCP, Snowflake, Airbyte, and Airflow
Programming experience with Python, SQL, and potentially Java or Scala
Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code tools (preferably Terraform), observability, monitoring, and alerting
Experience with solution cost optimization and design-to-cost
Experience driving engineering excellence initiatives
Legally eligible to work in India on an ongoing basis
Fluency in English is required
