About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Integrate into the client’s organization, tools, and technical environment
  • Understand the scope of existing Java applications or architectures
  • Design and develop robust new features in Java
  • Maintain and optimize existing systems
  • Participate in code reviews and unit testing
  • Collaborate with the client’s product, QA, and functional teams
  • Represent Smile’s professionalism and technical expertise at the client site
  • Conduct active technology monitoring
  • Share successes and resolve blockers with the Smile consultant community

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of experience in Java development and object-oriented programming (OOP)
  • Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot / Spring
  • Ideally, familiarity with a front-end framework: Angular, React, or Vue.js
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs
  • Knowledge of design patterns
  • Proficiency in SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB
  • Proficiency with Git source control
  • Knowledge of continuous integration using Jenkins or GitLab CI
  • Knowledge of code quality analysis with Sonar
  • Knowledge of containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum, SAFe, V-Model, or hybrid approaches
  • Adaptability, autonomy, rigor, strong interpersonal skills, and a service-oriented mindset
  • English language skills are an advantage
