About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Immerse yourself in the client’s organization, tools, and technical environment
Understand the scope of the existing Java application or architecture
Design and develop robust new features in Java
Maintain and optimize existing systems
Participate in code reviews and unit testing
Collaborate with the client’s product, QA, and functional teams
Represent Smile’s professionalism and technical expertise at the client site
Actively monitor technological developments
Share successes and resolve blockers with Smile’s consultant community
Work according to Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe), the V-Model, or hybrid approaches

Requirements

What you’ll need

4+ years of experience in Java development and object-oriented programming (OOP)
Strong command of Java, ideally with experience in Angular, React, or Vue.js
Knowledge of RESTful APIs and design patterns
Knowledge of SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL
Knowledge of NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB
Knowledge of Git
Knowledge of continuous integration using Jenkins or GitLab CI
Knowledge of Sonar
Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
Ability to quickly integrate into a team and technical ecosystem
Self-motivated, autonomous, and able to take initiative
Rigorous approach and strong commitment to code quality
Excellent interpersonal skills with technical and business stakeholders
Strong service mindset and ability to represent Smile with its clients
English proficiency is a plus
