About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build, test, and maintain high-performance, resilient Android applications using modern Kotlin standards
Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, and Backend teams to define technical specifications, break down stories, and deliver end-to-end features
Implement scalable UI components and business logic using Unidirectional Data Flow (MVI/MVVM) and Clean Architecture principles
Write robust unit and UI tests, analyze app performance, fix memory leaks, and optimize app startup time and frame rates
Participate in code reviews, enforce codebase consistency, and contribute to CI/CD and automated release pipelines
Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate development, improve test coverage, and streamline code maintenance
Develop mobile applications for the SafePath product line focused on family location and protection services

Requirements

What you’ll need

3–5 years of professional experience in Android app development
Advanced knowledge of Kotlin language features, idioms, and functional programming concepts
Strong hands-on experience building declarative user interfaces using Jetpack Compose and custom state management
Strong experience with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow for async workflows and reactive data streaming
Deep understanding of modern Android architecture patterns (MVVM/MVI, Clean Architecture) and DI frameworks like Hilt / Dagger
Experience integrating RESTful APIs (Retrofit, Ktor) and building offline-first local data layers using Room / DataStore
Experience leveraging AI developer tools (Copilot, Gemini Code Assist, Claude, etc.) to increase personal throughput and assist in refactoring/testing
Good English communication skills (written and spoken) for daily team interaction and documentation
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Familiarity with Google Play Console publishing, Play Store policies, and CI/CD tools (e.g., Bitrise, GitHub Actions, Docker, or Bamboo)
Experience migrating legacy XML layouts / View-based views to Jetpack Compose
Familiarity with Gradle build configurations, multi-module project structures, and dependency management
Experience using Android Studio Profiler, evaluating app energy/memory impact, and applying R8 / ProGuard optimizations
Exposure to Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP), iOS/Swift or hybrid systems
Familiarity with mobile app security standards (EncryptedSharedPreferences, Keystore system, biometrics, code obfuscation)
