About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and govern the architecture surrounding Adobe Commerce.
  • Act as the technical liaison for technology leadership in solution decisions.
  • Perform the technical assessment of the integration layer and design the target architecture during discovery.
  • Map the end-to-end integration architecture and identify critical dependencies.
  • Analyze queues, duplicate processing, and capacity bottlenecks.
  • Design governance using rate limiting, circuit breakers, and SLA-based prioritization.
  • Specify an end-to-end correlation identifier and API products with dedicated contracts.
  • Define what should be extracted from the core as a satellite service.
  • Estimate project workstreams in terms of effort and team profiles.
  • Design the integration layer with SAP BTP, Solace, and Backend for Frontend (BFF).
  • Define versioned API contracts with structured deprecation.
  • Define load-control, rate-limiting, and circuit-breaker strategies.
  • Define SKU and file normalization and validation before processing.
  • Design satellite services and maintain criteria for extracting functionality from the core.
  • Integrate correlation with observability and Adobe Commerce workstreams.
  • Identify and size new projects based on findings.
  • Support technical leadership in solution decisions, documenting them in ADRs.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Solid experience as a Solutions Architect or Integration Architect.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT and 3+ years in architecture.
  • Experience designing target architectures in complex environments.
  • Integration and messaging architecture: queues, pub/sub, idempotency, deduplication, retries, dead-letter queues, and backpressure.
  • Resilience patterns: rate limiting, circuit breakers, bulkheads, and SLA-based prioritization.
  • API and contract design using REST and OpenAPI; GraphQL is a plus.
  • API versioning, deprecation, and product-oriented API governance.
  • SAP BTP (Integration Suite / CPI, API Management) applied to real-world integrations.
  • Knowledge of large-scale B2B commerce, including distributors, catalogs, customer-specific pricing, credit, and high-volume orders.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Commerce (Magento 2), including APIs, internal queues, indexing, load limits, and extension points.
  • Distributed observability: correlation IDs, tracing, and integration metrics.
  • Ability to estimate projects in terms of effort and team composition.
  • Experience engaging with technical and business leadership.
  • Nice to have: Solace PubSub+ or similar brokers; Adobe Commerce Cloud; BFF; monolith decomposition; integrations with PIMs, payment gateways, and credit platforms; conversational channels; OpenTelemetry, New Relic, or equivalent APM; SAP BTP, Adobe Commerce Architect, TOGAF, or cloud certifications; consulting or diagnostic and restructuring projects.
