Design, implement, and operate critical and scalable services, including user identity services, friend graph, and core persistence layer
Work across teams to understand product requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver solutions for innovative products
Evaluate, test, and debug work to maintain high quality
Advocate for and apply best practices for availability, scalability, operational excellence, and cost management
Participate in incident or hotfix investigation and resolution as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS/BA degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent years of experience
Experience with backend services or distributed systems
Ability to independently execute on medium sized features, taking a few weeks and multiple PRs to complete
Ability to understand the operational aspects of your system and participate in incident or hotfix investigation and resolution
Proven track record of operating highly-available systems at significant scale
Experience coding in an industry-standard language such as Java, Kotlin, Swift, Python, or C++
Preferred: Experience with Java, C++, and/or Python
Preferred: Experience with NoSQL solutions, Memcache/Redis, Kubernetes, or Google/AWS services
Preferred: Experience in large-scale microservices and distributed systems, cloud computing and storage systems, or infrastructure and large-scale system design
