About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support real estate matters, including commercial leases, site development and construction projects, or employment and HR matters
  • Manage legal requests and projects from intake through completion
  • Track next steps, deadlines and approvals, escalating issues to the General Counsel when appropriate
  • Prepare, review and coordinate contracts, NDAs, correspondence and other legal documents
  • Assist with litigation, insurance claims and disputes
  • Organize records, coordinate with outside counsel and track developments
  • Support corporate governance, including entity records, board materials, resolutions and consents
  • Coordinate outside counsel engagements, invoices, budgets and matter updates
  • Maintain legal templates, files and trackers
  • Improve processes that make the legal function more efficient

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least five years of relevant experience as a senior paralegal, legal operations professional or in a similar legal support role
  • Strong hands-on experience in at least one of the following: commercial real estate matters, particularly leases, development or construction; or employment and HR matters
  • Judgment and organization to manage multiple assignments with limited day-to-day supervision
  • Ability to raise legal or business decisions for review at the right time
  • Strong drafting, communication and follow-through skills
  • Comfort working with digital document systems and standard office tools
  • Residence in the United States
  • In-house legal department experience preferred
  • Paralegal Certificate, Bachelor's Degree, law degree, foreign law degree, or equivalent legal training preferred
  • Experience supporting board governance, entity management, or corporate secretarial functions preferred
  • Experience with legal billing systems, contract management software, or matter-management platforms preferred
  • Experience managing outside counsel relationships and legal budgets preferred
