About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver expert DSEAR assessments and advise clients on corrective actions and compliance with DSEAR Regulations 2002 and ACOP L138
- Provide end-to-end DSEAR consultancy
- Conduct hazardous area classification and equipment selection under ATEX
- Develop practical engineering solutions
- Prepare prioritised action plans, HAC schedules, and zone drawings where required
- Ensure work meets SOCOTEC standards, policies, and client requirements
- Liaise directly with clients to explain findings and build trusted relationships
- Stay current with evolving legislation and best practice
- Work independently and collaboratively on multi-disciplinary projects
- Continuously develop professional skills and support business growth by identifying new opportunities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience working with and advising on DSEAR regulations
- Experience preparing HAC schedules and hazardous area drawing mark-ups
- Knowledge of ATEX equipment selection
- Knowledge of ignition risks from mechanical sources
- Strong technical, customer service, and communication skills
- Ability to provide practical, client-focused advice
- Well organised and proactive
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel to client sites as required
