  • Conduct detailed visual and, where requested, destructive examinations of fire door installations, frames, and associated hardware
  • Verify labelling and certification of fire door sets and assemblies
  • Check for visible damage, wear, or modifications that may compromise fire-door performance
  • Test fire-door operation, including opening, closing, and latching mechanisms
  • Verify the functionality of self-closing devices and other hardware
  • Ensure fire doors meet current fire and building code requirements
  • Evaluate fire-door installation and compatibility with supporting wall structures
  • Assess the suitability and performance of door components, including hinges, locks, letterplates, spy holes, glazing, intumescent strips and smoke seals, drop-down seals, and self-closers
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting findings, non-compliance issues, and recommended corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections
  • Stay updated on fire-safety legislation and standards
  • Build relationships with clients and stakeholders to promote fire-door safety awareness
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations during inspections
  • Promote fire-safety awareness and best practices to clients

Requirements
