About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze massive customer datasets and produce actionable insights
- Explain model performance and help customers build optimal risk-management policies
- Advocate for Socure’s solutions, products, models, and algorithms from a scientific perspective
- Create data stories demonstrating how Socure products eliminate identity fraud, streamline end-user experience, and support risk management
- Provide thought leadership and represent the customer voice in development of core models and products
- Create tools and automated workflows to improve analysis speed, accuracy, and reproducibility
- Partner with Sales, Solution Consultants, Account Managers, and Technical Account Managers to identify upsell and product-optimization opportunities
- Build machine-learning models when advantageous compared with established production models
- Support customer data, fraud and identity analytics, model evaluation, workflow optimization, monitoring/alerts, and reporting
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in a quantitative field, or equivalent work experience; advanced degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience in data science, data analysis, or analytics engineering
- Extensive theoretical and practical understanding of state-of-the-art supervised and unsupervised machine learning methods
- Clean, performant Python code
- 2+ years of experience working with massive real-life datasets
- Experience querying relational databases with SQL
- Experience with cloud tools and technologies in AWS, Azure, Databricks, or GCP
- Ability to tell compelling stories with data through dashboarding, interactive data stories, and actionable presentations
- Ability to explain complex ML/AI algorithms and analyses to non-technical audiences
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfort delivering presentations
- Ability to thrive in a remote startup work environment and set clear goals and hold oneself accountable
- Experience in identity verification and fraud prevention strongly preferred
- Experience with technologies including PySpark, Pandas, NumPy, H2O, SHAP, Seaborn, Jupyter, SQL, Redshift, Snowflake, S3, Databricks, Apache Spark, Apache Arrow, Amazon EMR, Airflow, SFTP/PGP, backtesting, train/holdout/OOT analysis, performance monitoring, threshold tuning, model/rule QA, Tableau, Looker, transformers, clustering, graph analytics, explainability, LLM/agentic workflows, Git, automated data-quality and validation testing, API integrations, and JSON
- Must be authorized to work in the country where the job is located
- Must not require current or future employment visa sponsorship in that country
