About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the Global Lease Accounting function, overseeing monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Review and approve lease accounting journal entries
- Monitor and enhance internal controls
- Resolve matters with subsidiaries and leased equipment suppliers
- Serve as the primary contact for auditor inquiries
- Oversee IT Accounting operations and close deadlines
- Review software cost capitalization journal entries
- Partner with GPC IT on complex accounting matters
- Review and oversee share-based compensation accounting, reporting, and analytical review
- Prepare and analyze asbestos liability and insurance accounting
- Review subsidiary restructuring liability rollforwards and support restructuring cost reporting
- Prepare and review financial statement footnotes for leases, share-based compensation, asbestos liability/insurance, and AOCI
- Support corporate accounting priorities, including reserve and accrual analyses, financial adjustments, budgeting inputs, and forecast support
- Provide leadership and development for one direct report
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
- Solid understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modelling, pivot tables, and formulas
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral/written communication skills
- Active CPA license (Preferred)
- Audit experience
- Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft
- Experience with IBM Planning Analytics
