About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Monitor and analyze transactional, operational, and inventory data to identify theft, fraud, or suspicious activity
  • Use surveillance systems, exception-based reporting tools, and investigative resources to detect internal and external theft
  • Collaborate with store management, Asset Protection teams, and other departments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend preventive measures
  • Conduct investigations into theft, fraud, policy violations, and other asset protection concerns
  • Document findings, gather evidence, and maintain accurate investigative records
  • Ensure investigations comply with company policies, legal requirements, and confidentiality standards
  • Prepare comprehensive case packets with evidence, witness statements, reports, and supporting documentation
  • Present findings to management, legal teams, or law enforcement as required
  • Maintain organized investigation records for reference and compliance
  • Work with cross-functional teams to address asset protection concerns and implement corrective actions
  • Assist in developing and implementing asset protection policies, procedures, and best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Compliance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or investigative roles
  • Strong knowledge of theft and fraud detection techniques, investigative processes, and evidence collection
  • Familiarity with surveillance systems, exception reporting tools, and other investigative technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare detailed reports and case documentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Knowledge of legal standards and procedures related to investigations, evidence handling, and interviews
  • Experience working with retail or corporate asset protection teams
  • Certification in Loss Prevention (e.g., LPQ, LPC) or related credentials preferred
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations as needed for investigations
  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and conduct surveillance for extended periods
