About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze risk in assigned audit areas and prepare proposed internal audit plans
- Schedule and coordinate planning for audit and advisory engagements
- Collaborate with leadership and colleagues to deliver innovative audit and advisory approaches
- Prepare audit testing strategies focused on internal control design and testing
- Perform audit testing and analysis; supervise assigned staff or contractors
- Review workpapers, document control weaknesses or inefficiencies, and manage engagement completion
- Select engagement coverage areas and determine information sources using individual judgment
- Evaluate issues independently based on impact and importance
- Prepare results and conduct entry and exit meetings to obtain management concurrence and responses
- Follow up on previously identified findings and management action plans
- Prepare reports for senior management and corporate directors
- Assess emerging technology and cybersecurity risks, including AI, cloud services, application and API security, data protection, third-party technology risk, and operational resilience
- Collaborate with the Data Analytics team on data analytics, automation, and AI-enabled techniques for risk assessment, audit testing, continuous monitoring, and reporting
- Train and develop junior team members through on-the-job coaching and constructive feedback
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in technology audit, consulting, or information security roles
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or Finance preferred; other business or technology related degrees considered depending upon relevant experience
- MBA or Master‘s degree in Information Systems, Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Finance a plus
- Professional auditing, security, or technology designation such as CISSP, CCSP, AWS Cloud Practitioner, CFA, etc., preferred, or substantially completed designation requirements while actively pursuing completion
- Experience within the asset management or securities industries a plus
- Knowledge of investment products, portfolio management, trading, investment operations, and finance
- Experience auditing enterprise and web applications, cybersecurity practices, privacy, application security, API security, secure software development practices, vulnerability management, UNIX, Linux, Windows, SQL Server, and Oracle databases
- Knowledge and experience auditing networking and firewalls a plus
- Experience auditing cloud-based platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Snowflake
- Knowledge of cloud security, configuration management, encryption, logging and monitoring, identity controls, and third-party/SaaS governance
- Experience designing and conducting data analysis for audit objectives using data analytics, automation, and AI-enabled techniques
- Experience designing and building continuous auditing or monitoring tools and techniques a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving ability, including risk identification, issue investigation, root-cause analysis, and determining appropriate action
- Excellent knowledge of COBIT, NIST, ISO27000, OWASP, and AI governance/control frameworks
- Strong knowledge of technology and cybersecurity trends, including AI governance, model risk, cloud security, application and API security, identity and access management, data protection, DevSecOps, third-party technology risk, and operational resilience
- Proficiency with analytics software such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, ACL, and IDEA a plus
- Proficiency in R and Python a plus, including audit automation, data validation, analytics scripting, and AI-assisted audit procedures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
