About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Update and upgrade outdated libraries, dependencies, and frameworks to keep the application stable and secure
Add and expand unit test coverage across the application
Test the system thoroughly to validate stability and functionality after upgrades
Identify and resolve issues introduced by dependency or framework changes
Collaborate with the client's engineering team to align on priorities and progress
Support end-of-life maintenance work for an application that must remain operational longer than anticipated
Work roughly equally across backend and frontend, with slightly more backend code

Requirements

What you’ll need

+90% English written and oral (B2 level minimum)
8+ years of full-stack development experience
Strong backend experience with Kotlin and Gradle
Strong frontend experience with TypeScript and React
Experience with library/dependency upgrades and framework version migrations
Solid understanding of unit testing principles and experience writing and maintaining tests
Ability to work independently and ramp up quickly on an existing codebase
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field
Experience working on EOL or legacy modernization projects (nice to have)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (nice to have)
Experience working in small, agile teams (nice to have)
