About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare and/or support federal, state/provincial, and local tax filings across all legal entities
  • Support sales/use tax, GST/HST, and VAT compliance across jurisdictions, including monitoring nexus
  • Assist with quarterly and annual tax provision calculations under IFRS
  • Use AI tools for tax law research, technical memo drafting, and regulatory update summaries
  • Research and document tax positions on new products, contract structures, and cross-border transactions
  • Support tax planning opportunities, including R&D tax credits, intercompany transfer pricing, and jurisdictional structuring
  • Maintain the tax compliance calendar across all jurisdictions
  • Help respond to tax notices and support tax audits
  • Monitor relevant tax law changes
  • Act as a first point of contact for Sales, Procurement, and Operations on routine tax questions
  • Review customer and vendor contracts for appropriate tax treatment
  • Support new market expansion by evaluating tax registration and compliance requirements
  • Translate complex tax regulations into practical stakeholder guidance
  • Learn and eventually own the 13-week cash flow forecast
  • Monitor daily cash positions across bank accounts and currencies
  • Gain exposure to banking relationships, account structures, and treasury tools
  • Assist with intercompany funding tracking and foreign currency exposure considerations
  • Support annual treasury planning and working capital analysis
  • Explore AI tools for cash forecast variance analysis and recurring reconciliation/reporting automation
  • Work with the Director of Accounting, Accounting, FP&A, Finance Operations, and external advisors

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA/CA in progress or completed
  • 2–4 years of tax compliance experience
  • Genuine interest in learning cash forecasting and treasury operations; no prior treasury experience required
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and learning new processes
  • Comfortable using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally
  • Detail-oriented and organized, able to manage multiple deadlines
  • Candidates must undergo a criminal records check upon hire
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen, including dual citizens, or eligible to work in Canada
  • Must comply with Solink’s security policies and standards
  • Preferred: exposure to IFRS reporting
  • Preferred: experience in SaaS, hardware, or hybrid hardware/software businesses
  • Preferred: exposure to multi-entity or multi-currency environments
  • Preferred: experience supporting external audits
  • Preferred: international and global tax compliance experience, including VAT and other indirect/direct taxes
