About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support overall HV construction and operation for successful project execution
Communicate and coordinate Project Engineer responsibilities
Review power purchase, interconnection, contract, study, and customer/owner engineer requirements for project compliance
Review LNTP/Early Stage Deliverables
Assist with project HV budgets and forecasts
Develop subcontractor scopes of work and support subcontracting efforts with the Project Manager
Manage HV subcontractors, including billings, RFIs, status reports, and risk
Manage HV scope changes and collect RFIs
Participate in project kick-off, utility coordination, owner coordination, SE team, material procurement, and team meetings
Hold construction schedule and scope review meetings
Schedule on-site kick-off meetings
Assemble final completion punch lists
Coordinate with Engineering on material procurement
Maintain a safe work environment and direct safe work practices in energized substations
Complete other assigned responsibilities
Work full-time on a Texas jobsite and travel regularly

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 3-4 years of work related experience in design and/or construction of power substations
PMP certification, or direct relevant industry experience preferred
Knowledge related to the construction and operation of electrical equipment and installation
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Ability to work, analyze, troubleshoot and prioritize problems independently
Effective written and verbal English communication skills
Proficiency and knowledge in office practices, procedures and equipment
Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and coordinate
P6 scheduling experience preferred
Ability to travel regularly, locally and interstate

Ability to meet the stated physical demands and environmental conditions, including lifting 20 or more lbs and occasional climbing
