About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform all essential Entry Level/Intern Project Engineer responsibilities
- Attend and document project meetings and write minutes
- Set up and maintain electronic filing systems
- Update and maintain drawings, specifications, and logs
- Assist with preparation and maintenance of CPM schedules
- Evaluate basic construction means and methods
- Maintain a site-specific safety plan and pre-task planning process, including audits, meetings, and training
- Distribute documents to subcontractors and maintain document logs
- Evaluate field problems and document PCIs
- Prepare and maintain PCI logs in CMiC
- Review, analyze, and transmit submittals
- Prepare and maintain submittal and procurement logs
- Perform expediting functions
- Cost code or verify codes on time sheets
- Code Accounts Payable workflows
- Verify estimate quantities for labor cost reports
- Report quantities in place and maintain labor cost reports
- Prepare and document extra work orders
- Review and assemble change order submittals and quantity surveys
- Set up and maintain a Quality Management system
- Maintain a progress photo album
- Compile contract closeout documents, including O&M manuals and as-builts
- Maintain record set drawings
- Document punch list work
- Perform basic Building Information Modeling and model administration
- Support project profitability, schedule, quality control, customer satisfaction, team attitude, professional growth, and staff development
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 1-3 years of work-related experience in design and/or construction of power substations
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work, analyze, troubleshoot, and prioritize problems independently
- Effective written and verbal English communication skills
- Proficiency and knowledge of in office practices, procedures and equipment
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and coordinate
- Basic estimating and scheduling skills
- P6 scheduling experience a plus
- Construction related internship experience preferred
- Field experience a plus
- Basic understanding of construction cost accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to read and understand plans and specifications
- Ability to use independent judgment and be self-starting
- Drafting and advanced computer skills a plus
- Knowledge of virtual construction technology systems preferred
- Requires frequent physical activity including stooping, bending, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting 20 or more lbs
- Constant finger dexterity, close- and distance-range vision, hearing, speaking, and depth perception
- Occasional climbing and carrying, proximity to moving mechanical parts, and working in high exposed places
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future
