About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities in substations and PV facilities
- Direct and supervise site testing, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting
- Perform site testing, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and energized electrical work
- Perform maintenance in accordance with company directives or authorized service documents
- Ensure a safe working environment through adherence to and enforcement of safety standards
- Understand, follow, and communicate safety regulations and work procedures
- Supervise, train, and certify Testing Technician Level I, II, and III employees
- Prepare timely and accurate documentation and required reports
- Complete jobs with the assistance of Technicians and Trainees
- Assemble, write, and review complete test reports
- Handle multiple jobs simultaneously with limited supervision
- Communicate with clients, vendors, and teammates
- Implement engineering studies
- Assist in developing technical and safety policies and procedures
- Write Standard Operating Procedures
- Assess technicians' safety and technical skill sets

Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments
- Expert knowledge of NETA, MTS, and ATS standards
- Proficiency with a variety of test equipment
- Strong understanding of protective relay schemes and coordination
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and diagrams
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV
- Ability to test and calibrate various types of protective relays
- Ability to conduct insulation resistance and contact resistance testing
- Ability to analyze test results and draft comprehensive engineering reports
- Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical system failures in critical situations
- Ability to mentor Level I/II technicians and serve as a technical lead on projects
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future
