About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop an expert understanding of custom software features, design intent, integrations, and application usage
Prioritize and manage testing work using Jira, team tools, and release timelines
Coordinate with developers and product team members to understand intended feature behavior
Coordinate functional, regression, negative, and ad-hoc testing with QA team members
Write comprehensive test cases for functional test scenarios
Improve testing through automation, AI, and other innovations
Build self-sufficiency in the test environment, including basic Git/GitHub skills to pull and run code locally
Bring training and communications insights to support continuous process and product improvement
Serve as first point of contact and 2nd-tier support for custom software
Troubleshoot and resolve issues or escalate clear, reproducible bug reports to the Development Manager in Jira
Monitor support channels and maintain accurate ticket records through resolution
Identify recurring issues, document known fixes, and suggest root-cause improvements
Complete other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or related
Experience writing automated tests for Typescript or Python code bases
5+ years of software QA testing
Demonstrated, exceptional organizational skills and an aptitude to learn
Experience testing software applications, identifying bugs, and validating features against product requirements
Proficiency in Jira and Confluence
Strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills
Clear and concise communication
Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience providing end-user software support, including triage, troubleshooting, and ticket management
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent support requests
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future
