About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide anesthesia care for both cardiac and general surgical procedures
- Utilize perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) during cardiac cases
- Collaborate with surgeons, cardiologists, CRNAs, and multidisciplinary care teams
- Deliver high-quality patient care in a busy tertiary care environment
- Document anesthesia care in accordance with Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare and Somnia standards
- Provide care for approximately 60% cardiac cases and diverse general anesthesiology cases
- Participate in the general call rotation of 48 calls per year, averaging one in-house call per week with a CRNA, with a post-call day off, or work a non-call-taking Monday-Friday schedule
Requirements
What you’ll need- MD or DO degree
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology Residency
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
- Eligible for Tennessee Medical Licensure
- DEA Registration
- BLS and ACLS Certification
- TEE Certification Required
- Demonstrated experience providing anesthesia for open-heart and structural heart procedures
- Extensive experience providing anesthesia for both cardiac and general surgical procedures
- Cardiac Anesthesiology Fellowship preferred but not required
- No visa sponsorship available
