About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and oversee day-to-day construction activities supporting the Concentrator and associated project infrastructure
  • Coordinate activities across process facilities and supporting infrastructure, including surface infrastructure, roads, dams, water treatment facilities, power infrastructure, maintenance and administrative buildings, and onsite and offsite works
  • Manage and coordinate site construction contractors and subcontractors daily
  • Ensure construction activities comply with environmental and community relations policies, plans, and commitments
  • Assist with sourcing strategies for major works packages
  • Prepare daily, monthly, and quarterly construction and progress reports
  • Review and provide input to project construction schedules
  • Implement remedial recovery actions as required
  • Ensure compliance with change management processes
  • Coordinate timely delivery of construction services to internal stakeholders
  • Provide input to contractor risk assessments
  • Ensure Virtual Design and Construction initiatives comply with technology objectives
  • Monitor VDC and BXP technology objectives using approved metrics
  • Coordinate equipment and material deliveries and ensure Care & Perseveration requirements are implemented and documented
  • Organize and oversee maintenance and safe, effective utilization of tools, equipment, supplies, and inventories
  • Assist with construction documentation for upcoming work packages
  • Identify contractor performance issues and work with internal stakeholders to resolve them
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulatory and building code requirements
  • Ensure conformity with industry codes of practice and standards
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Construction Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline; relevant trade qualifications and/or equivalent experience may also be considered
  • Minimum 5 years of large-scale mining construction site management
  • Demonstrated visible field safety leadership and ability to drive safety and performance excellence
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, mechanical installation, and trade practices
  • Strong and effective communication and engagement skills
  • Relationship-building skills, empathy, emotional intelligence, and cross-cultural effectiveness
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional and ethical conduct
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong English-language written and oral communication skills
  • Experience coordinating contractors, subcontractors, and union and non-union craft labor
  • Experience with project logistics, construction contracts, and vendor service contracts
  • Experience working with teams and interacting with customers
  • Experience working in a cross-cultural setting
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining a strong safety culture
  • Experience with Building Information Management systems
  • Must be able to drive a company vehicle and be covered under company insurance
