About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate general ledger activities for all SIH entities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor accounting systems for financial reporting
  • Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
  • Analyze balance sheet accounts and prepare account reconciliations
  • Process approved and documented invoices and payment requests, including sales tax returns
  • Monitor capital-related transactions, cash-related transactions, physician receivables, grants, restricted donations, and agency funds
  • Analyze accounts receivable, contractual accounts, reserves, income statement variances, and Hospital Auxiliary financial data
  • Prepare and distribute financial reports
  • Collaborate with management, auditors, and others regarding financial statements and variances
  • Monitor and process closing of Workday applications, including allocations, during month-end close
  • Maintain accurate electronic procedures for each responsibility
  • Develop processes, disciplines, guidelines, sign-off points, and best practices
  • Foster collaboration and partnerships across functional boundaries
  • Lead teams, motivate others, communicate complex ideas, and drive organizational results
  • Support change management and break down organizational barriers
  • Maintain alignment with SIH’s vision, mission, and values
  • Understand financial and operational drivers while supporting high-quality patient care and service

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 3 years Accounting experience
  • 1 year Healthcare Accounting preferred
  • Intermittent hand manipulation required
  • Intermittent lifting and carrying of 20 pounds, which can be modified
