About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a full-service, single point of contact in the branch for customers’ financial needs
  • Provide exceptional customer service in both teller transactions and account management
  • Serve customers quickly, accurately, efficiently, and confidentially according to service standards
  • Identify customer needs and expand customer relationships through referrals
  • Explain bank products, services, policies, procedures, benefits, fees, and regulations
  • Process savings, checking, and loan account transactions
  • Maintain an orderly work area and balance transactions daily
  • Cash checks, process savings withdrawals, sell certified checks, and service or balance ATMs
  • Utilize branch capture systems and follow operational, security, audit, and workflow procedures
  • Open new deposit accounts and handle stop payments, wire transfers, and other account maintenance functions
  • Resolve customer problems and complaints and direct complex issues to appropriate assistance
  • Maintain accurate and timely branch records, reports, and correspondence
  • Float to different offices in the area to accommodate staffing needs
  • May guide and train new tellers and assist with vault responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • One year of teller or cash handling experience and six months customer relationship building or sales experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in the Teller II and basic FSR job functions
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Cash handling, sales, customer service
  • Previous banking experience preferred
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time
  • Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports, and cash denominations, and identify customers
  • Travel may be required to come to meetings or training as needed
  • Completion of The SouthState Way New Team Member Orientation, Teller Foundations, Banker Foundations, assigned Regulatory Compliance Training, and policy acknowledgements through DocuSign as assigned
