About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop new relationships and generate new sales with community banks by marketing SouthState Correspondent products and services
  • Maintain current working knowledge of all SouthState Correspondent products and services
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community bank customers through in-bank, telephone, and written contact
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of SouthState Bank, N.A., its affiliates, and strategic alliance service offerings
  • Facilitate relationships with Bank Management, Division Management, and Division support personnel
  • Plan and schedule visits to customers and prospects within a defined region
  • Assist in completing contact reports for customer and prospect visits
  • Prepare and present analysis comparisons and other services for prospect institutions
  • Act as a SouthState Correspondent liaison at bank-sponsored and external events
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with market and industry influencers, including bank consultants, law firms, trade associations, and CPAs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university
  • Six to ten years related experience and/or training
  • Excellent business development/relationship management skills within the banking industry
  • Strong sales ability, preferably in a banking environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Outstanding customer service and follow-up skills
  • Familiarity with e-mail systems, Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and basic personal computer skills
  • Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports
  • Must have a secure home office environment free from background noise and distractions
  • Must have a reliable private internet connection not supplied by cellular data/hot spot
  • Position travels 90% of the time
