About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a full-service, single point of contact in the branch for customers’ financial needs
- Operate in the dual capacity of Teller and FSR, providing transactional and account-management service
- Serve customers quickly, accurately, efficiently, and confidentially
- Explain bank products, services, features, benefits, rules, regulations, and pricing
- Identify customer needs and expand relationships through referrals
- Develop understanding of customer-facing technology and enroll customers in self-service options
- Process savings, checking, and loan-account transactions
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area
- Guide and train new tellers as needed
- Allow customers access to safe deposit boxes as needed
- Cash checks and process savings withdrawals within assigned limits
- Sell certified checks
- Balance transactions daily and service or balance ATMs as needed
- Utilize the branch capture system as needed
- Follow transaction, security, audit, and operational procedures
- Open new deposit accounts and handle stop payments, wire transfers, and other account-maintenance functions
- Explain policies and procedures and resolve customer problems and complaints
- Direct difficult customer issues to appropriate sources
- Maintain accurate, timely, and properly distributed branch records, reports, and correspondence
- Float to different offices in the area to accommodate staffing needs
- Perform vault or backup vault responsibilities as assigned
- Attend meetings or training as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- One year of teller or cash handling experience and six months customer relationship building or sales experience
- Demonstrated expertise in the Teller II and basic FSR job functions
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent
- Cash handling, sales, customer service experience
- Previous banking experience preferred
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good computer skills
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time
- Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports, and cash denominations, and identify customers
