About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Fragrance Merchandise team in planning and trading the department
  • Drive sales through effective stock planning and intake management
  • Build relationships with brands
  • Assist with sales forecasting at brand and department level
  • Support management of the WSSI
  • Take ownership of a small brand portfolio under the guidance of the Merchandiser
  • Support strategic planning, intake management and NPD cycles for the brand portfolio
  • Support stock intake in line with agreed department targets
  • Suggest ways to mitigate risks and maximise opportunities
  • Prepare and analyse trade summaries
  • Provide insights to influence stock and trading decisions
  • Identify opportunities for growth and risk
  • Develop relationships with internal and external cross-functional partners, including Buying, Trading, Marketing, Inventory Merch and Brands
  • Prepare SKU-level forecasts for NPD and new brand launches
  • Support accurate allocations to sales channels
  • Assist in generating markdowns
  • Support brand activations in stores and pop-ups
  • Oversee and guide the junior-level MAA with daily tasks

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience as an Assistant Merchandiser within a retail environment
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to interpret data and make informed trading decisions
  • Excellent Excel proficiency
  • Advanced skills with merchandising tools
  • Experience with brands/stakeholder management
  • Evidence mentoring an administrative assistant will be highly regarded
  • Entrepreneurial mind set and self-motivated
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly analytical with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Adaptable and open to change, willing to take on new challenges and driven to continually improve
  • Must have the right to live and work in the UK
