About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Create, maintain, and support the entire functions of client projects
Architect new features and refactor existing code for scalability
Work on-site with clients to understand their business when needed
Guide other developers and see changes through to completion in live environments
Collaborate with product managers, developers, systems analysts, and designers throughout the project lifecycle
Participate in solution architecture, implementation, documentation, delivery, and support
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code for functional web applications
Write unit and integration tests
Troubleshoot and debug applications
Ensure optimal application performance and scaling
Improve legacy applications using emerging technologies
Gather technical and design requirements and translate them into specifications and tasks
Provide training and support to internal teams
Build reusable code and libraries
Act as a technical resource for cross-functional teams to define new features
Implement and provide feedback on DevSecOps environments and initiatives
Provide technical direction based on emerging technology exploration
Onboard, mentor, train, and pair-program with less experienced developers
Research and evaluate integrations, tools, and libraries
Conduct code reviews and provide implementation feedback
Contribute to technical and client documentation
Occasionally travel to meet clients and project teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of relevant experience (preferably a combination of education and professional)
Confidence and experience using high-level or object-oriented programming languages and technologies like PHP, Advanced JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, HTML5, and CSS3
Familiarity with DevSecOps or cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Ability to write and detail implementation specs or user stories
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience in business strategy and solutions
Knowledge of software, web development, databases, mobile development, and technology solutions
Ability to communicate with web developers and designers
Ability to meet tight deadlines
Ability to prioritize multiple projects without management oversight
Comfortable with Git version control
Ability to optimize database queries
Ability to refactor and optimize existing code
Comfortable using the Linux terminal
Familiar with Docker in a local development environment
Understanding of accessibility and server security standards and compliance
Exceptional debugging skills
Nice to have: understanding or desire to learn Python, .NET, C#, Java, etc.
Nice to have: automated unit and integration testing
Nice to have: SASS and Webpack or Rollup
Nice to have: experience with multiple platforms
