About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure stability and reliability of cloud operations by monitoring and automating AWS infrastructure
- Design and maintain AWS infrastructure, networking, security controls, API hosting environments, monitoring tools, scalability configurations, and production deployment support
- Monitor operations, security, system resources, and application performance
- Execute AWS implementation plans ranging from load-balanced EC2 scaling groups to Lambda functions
- Manage AWS resources and native cloud services
- Maintain continuity of operations with 100% uptime
- Support Continuous Integration environments using Docker and Kubernetes
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborate across multiple teams on large Agile projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience with core AWS platform architecture, including Organizations, account design, VPC, subnets, and segmentation strategies
- Experience monitoring operations and security of EC2, container, and AWS services
- Familiarity with CloudFormation and Terraform
- Familiarity with AWS Direct Connect and AWS Site-to-Site VPNs
- Familiarity with AWS KMS encryption
- Familiarity with CloudWatch and CloudTrail logging
- Ability to implement AWS solutions from load-balanced EC2 scaling groups to Lambda functions
- Experience managing AWS resources and native cloud services
- Experience working within a Continuous Integration environment using Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with Git, GitHub, and Bitbucket
- Experience with DataDog, Kibana, and Elasticsearch
- Experience with Maven, Gradle, ANT, and Grunt
- Expertise in Amazon S3 object storage, lifecycle management, versioning, replication, and data security
- Experience with AWS Fargate
- Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
- Experience with RDS, PostgreSQL, and other AWS data services
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Experience working on Agile projects and large projects involving multiple teams
- 7+ years of Application Development, Maintenance, or Application Administration
- 3–5 years of experience maintaining AWS infrastructure
- 5+ years of experience with DevOps tools
- 5+ years of experience supporting applications on AWS
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Self-directed and self-motivated, with ability to take charge or support as needed
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
- AWS certifications
- Preferred: CMS healthcare experience
- Preferred: Experience with large-scale cloud operations and cross-team collaboration
