About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze data from varied sources and identify and correct errors and inconsistencies
  • Develop and implement processes, policies, procedures, and standards to improve data quality
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of APS data
  • Analyze structured and unstructured data using statistical analysis, cleansing, transformation, and governance techniques
  • Document processes, prepare reports, and recommend process improvements
  • Develop processes and procedures to enhance operations
  • Collaborate with teams to implement report changes and updates
  • Perform statistical tests on large datasets to assess data quality and integrity
  • Review data ingestion and transformation artifacts for validation and analysis
  • Provide quality assurance reports using Excel, SharePoint, Power BI, and Tableau
  • Perform ad hoc data analysis for programmatic questions and stakeholder requests
  • Work on project teams to determine requirements, goals, implementation, and schedules
  • Develop scripts and dashboards to monitor data-flow accuracy and quality
  • Monitor dashboards and reports to maintain data accuracy and quality checks
  • Peer review team members’ work outputs for quality assurance
  • Assess and deliver timely data reporting and data solutions against client requirements
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Support CMS in detecting and preventing fraud, waste, and abuse in government-sponsored health programs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2+ years of experience in a data analytics role
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, including SAFe and Scrum
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Excellent communication and collaborative teamwork abilities
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive issue identification
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • Advanced Excel expertise, including pivot tables, formulas, and conditional formatting
  • Experience with SQL, R, Python, Tableau, Power BI, or AWS QuickSight
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL, Oracle, and data modeling
  • Preferred: SAFe Agile Certification
  • Preferred: GitHub experience
  • Preferred: healthcare IT and HIPAA knowledge
  • Preferred: CMS processes and standards experience or knowledge
