About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, document, integrate, test, and deliver high-quality code, scripts, and services using Agile and DevOps practices in an AWS cloud environment
- Collaborate with technical and business teams to build and maintain solutions following Agile development principles
- Improve development practices, methodologies, and team productivity
- Build applications focused on simplicity, reliability, scalability, performance, and reusability
- Follow coding standards, best practices, and style guidelines
- Participate in peer code reviews
- Provide Level 2 support, debugging, and troubleshooting for existing applications
- Mentor junior developers and support their growth
- Ensure secure development practices and maintain end-to-end application security
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java, OOP, J2EE, and microservice design fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with microservices, RESTful APIs/JSON, SOAP, XML-RPC, and containerization architecture
- Experience with Agile Scrum delivery model
- Strong knowledge of multithreading and design patterns
- Experience with Spring Boot and/or Quarkus
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs
- Basic to intermediate experience with Apache Camel or similar integration frameworks
- Proficiency working with JSON, XML, and XSD schemas
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with Docker and basic understanding of Kubernetes or OpenShift
- Experience with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Git, and Maven
- Comfortable working in Linux environments
- Experience with JUnit, Mockito, or similar
- Familiarity with Postman, SOAP UI, or similar
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- Messaging systems such as ActiveMQ, Kafka, or AWS SQS are a plus
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, RDS, and OpenSearch is a plus
- Basic Python scripting and JavaScript exposure are preferred
