About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, test, and maintain software components throughout the software development lifecycle
- Develop and enhance Java/Scala-based REST APIs based on technical designs and business requirements
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and technical teams to identify design gaps and implement functionality improvements
- Build, configure, and support scalable software solutions using modern development frameworks and tools
- Create and execute unit tests to ensure code quality and application reliability
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, test, and production environments
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, code reviews, and retrospectives
- Support application deployments, maintenance, and continuous improvement activities
- Deliver IT solutions for government clients
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience in software development and application support
- Strong experience with Java and REST API development
- Experience with JavaScript and modern web application development practices
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful services
- Knowledge of software design patterns, object-oriented programming, and secure coding practices
- Experience with unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting complex applications
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native application development
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Preferred: experience supporting CMS, Federal Government, or healthcare systems
- Preferred: experience working with NoSQL databases
- Preferred: experience working within Agile development teams
