About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support day-to-day testing activities across development and sustainment test events
  • Collaborate with senior test team members and the Government Test Manager on test planning, including scope, schedule, resources, and deliverables
  • Analyze requirements, designs, and architecture documents to define test objectives and design test scenarios
  • Develop and maintain test cases, test scripts, and test data
  • Document test results and track issues and defects using Jira, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar test management tools
  • Participate in daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and test readiness reviews
  • Communicate testing status, risks, and issues with internal teams and stakeholders
  • Support test data management and environment readiness with configuration and release teams
  • Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and quality assurance best practices
  • Gain familiarity with performance and automated testing tools while supporting senior staff on advanced test strategies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3-4 years of experience in Health IT testing or related software testing roles
  • Understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Experience with Agile tools like Jira or Azure DevOps
  • Hands-on experience writing and executing test cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Familiarity with requirements traceability and defect tracking tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across technical and functional teams
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Tier 2 clearance for the Department of Defense
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Preferred: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), ISTQB Agile Tester, or equivalent certifications
  • Preferred: Exposure to automated test tools such as Selenium and Cucumber
  • Preferred: Exposure to performance test tools such as JMeter
  • Preferred: Familiarity with DevSecOps and continuous integration/continuous testing
  • Preferred: Experience supporting federal Health IT programs, especially ACAT I or III programs
  • Preferred: Knowledge of ITIL or ITSM processes
