Design, develop, document, integrate, test, and deliver scripts, code, and services using agile DevOps methodologies in an AWS cloud environment
Collaborate with technical and business team members to develop and maintain business solutions
Help build a dynamic and productive development organization and continuously improve practices and methodologies
Design and develop simple, reliable, manageable, scalable, extensible, performant, reusable, and maintainable applications using Ruby on Rails and related technologies
Establish and follow software coding best practices and style guides
Participate in code reviews
Contribute to team meetings and troubleshoot development and production problems
Develop user documentation, software procedures, reports, plans, requirements specifications, design documents, development files, source code, version description documents, and test plans
Research new internet/intranet technologies and software products and participate in educational and professional development opportunities

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years software development with hands-on experience in Java/Core JEE platform
Experience using Java to design, build, and maintain scalable, API-first, service-oriented applications, including cloud-native development with Quarkus
Understanding of Java and JEE technologies, including JDBC, JMS, Spring (Core/Boot), Hibernate, ORM frameworks, and NoSQL data stores
Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs (JSON), SOAP, XML-RPC, and other service integration patterns
Skills in XML, JUnit, Mockito, and enterprise database technologies; preference for Oracle and MarkLogic
Understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, design patterns, and clean architecture principles
Expertise in SQL, including complex queries, indexing strategies, and performance tuning; experience with NoSQL platforms such as MarkLogic
Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and platform/operations collaboration
Experience deploying and operating services in Docker and Kubernetes environments
Experience with Agile and Kanban delivery models
Familiarity with Angular, JavaScript, and jQuery
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, DynamoDB, and MongoDB
Experience designing solutions using AWS services including EC2, EKS, ECS, EBS, Glacier, S3, ELB, CloudFormation, Lambda, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, VPC, RDS, Direct Connect, AWS CLI, Service Catalog, DynamoDB, and REST APIs
Experience with Jenkins, Git, Maven, SonarQube, and Ansible
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
Preferred: Ruby, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu, Apache, Certified Scrum Developer, AWS certification, Federal background investigation, and CMS experience
